A SEVENTY piece orchestra and three vocalists will perform the music of Take That and Robbie Williams in the latest show by celebrated local orchestra Pops Incorporated UK this weekend.

Following the sell out success of their ever popular Summer's End picnic concert with fireworks at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens last month, the orchestra head indoors for the event, at Thornden Hall on Saturday night (September 25).

Take That hits Shine, Rule The World, Greatest Day, Relight My Fire, How Deep Is Your Love and Never Forget will be among 22 stand out sings set to be performed in the Pops own style.

Hits by Robbie Williams will include Let Me Entertain You, Angels, Rock DJ and Millennium.

"We don't go small," laughs Pops founder and musical director Ron Armstrong.

"We do stuff other orchestras wouldn't touch. There's so many orchestras out there playing classical music, but we like to be different. The Pops is not like anything else. Abba, Queen, The Beatles, you name it, we play it!"

Founded in 1999, Pops Incorporated has a repertoire which ranges from contemporary pop to film soundtrack orchestrations including Star Wars.

Harnessing the enthusiasm of dozens of talented musicians and singers from all over Hampshire and Dorset, they have performed in the United States, Canada and France, including Disneyland Paris.

A full James Bond concert is planned for next year and a Mega Music Mix family concert including music from the likes of Beyonce and Amy Winehouse will take place at Thornden Hall in November.

Tickets for Saturday's concert, which gets under way at 7.30pm, are available priced £12 or £10 for concessions.
