LOVE never felt so good for newlyweds Martin and Carly Wolf who finally tied the knot after nearly two years in the planning and a whole host of Covid concerns.

The happy couple, from Southampton, were joined by 105 of their nearest and dearest for their wonderful wedding, which took place last month at St James’ Church in West End followed by a reception at Marwell Hotel.

Mr and Mrs Wolf, who got engaged in the Big Apple, were hoping to return to America for their honeymoon. But with strict Covid travel restrictions still in place, they opted for a Welsh minimoon and will make the trip across the pond in 2022 instead.

Here the groom tells us more about their big day: (Q) How and where did you get engaged?

(A) I proposed to Carly on Christmas Day 2019 on Bow Bridge in Central Park, New York City.

(Q) Did Covid have any impact on your wedding plans?

(A) Our wedding did take place on what was our original date. However we only knew for sure it would go ahead when lockdown was fully lifted so plans were on hold as restrictions kept being pushed back. Covid and isolation periods affected the number of guests that were able to attend.

Daily Echo:

(Q) Who made up your bridal party?

(A) Maid of Honour - Donna, Bridesmaid - Lisa, Bridesmaid - Katie, Bridesmaid - Vicky and Flower Girl - Neve.

(Q) What are your best memories of the day?

(A) The whole day was incredible but my best memories are turning around and Seeing Carly in her beautiful dress for the first time on the day, being pronounced husband and wife and our first dance to Michael Jackson’s Love Never Felt so Good. Also seeing everyone and celebrating together after such a long time in lockdown and a tough year.

Daily Echo:

(Q) What was the most stressful part of organising your wedding?

(A) The not knowing if the wedding was going to take place, wondering if we were going to move to a back up date and the effect this may have had on our own life plans going forward.

Not having our dream honeymoon in America. Instead we booked to go to Newquay and St Ives but due to a spike in Covid numbers we had to cancel that four days before the wedding. Instead, we booked a couple of days in Cardiff for a minimoon with plans to go on our honeymoon in America next year.

(Q) Do you have anything else you’d like to add?

(A) Love never felt so good!
