Boyz on Block, which is made up of Abz Love from Five, Boyzone's Shane Lynch, Dane Bowers from Another Level, and Ben Ofoedu from dance duo Phats & Small, will appear at The Pilgrim Inn in Marchwood tomorrow night.

They're taking a break from the retro music scene, which includes a packed schedule of festivals and appearances at Butlin's, for the one off event.

New manager Matt England has big plans for large-scale events at the pub, which is perfectly placed between Southampton and the New Forest.

First up is the inaugural Waterside Fest, which will be headlined by the boyband supergroup, performing a mixture of iconic 90s tracks from 9pm.

Quirky party band Inertia will combine anthemic dance with pop and rock classics from the 70s through to the 00s as they warm up the 500-strong crowd. There will be background live music all day from local musicians.

The car park of the pub is being taken over by a host of local businesses as organisers promise pizza, locally made sweets, coffee and sunshine!

Main sponsors are HMS Spirits from Fawley with their event company HMS Bars. Also in support is the Vibrant Forest Brewery from Holbury who will be selling their brews all day and night. Filly your Face are also set to launch at the event and customers can enjoy coffee and locally made sweet, cakes and fudge from them.

Fullers, who own the pub, will have some delicious food and London Pride beer on tap from midday too.

The Pilgrim Inn has only been a pub since the 1980s despite homes being on the site for centuries.

Award-winning BBC cameraman Ron Longman and his wife Margaret bought two derelict cottages on the site and decided to open a pub. Ron continued to run the pub after Margaret's death, selling it to Fullers after more than 30 years at the helm.

These days, The Pilgrim Inn boasts a 14-room hotel, which had a new thatched roof and a lick of paint during lockdown. Rooms are decorated with rich, earthy tones and some enjoy roll top baths, four poster beds and forest or nautical themes.

The seasonally changing menu includes pub classics like burgers, pies and fish and chips, as well as more unusual items like game faggots, seafood tagliatelle and a weekly board of signature dishes.

Fullers London Pride and Gale's brews Seafarers and HSB are among the most popular drinks with a choice of 25 mainly local gins and an impressive wine list also proving hits at the bar.
