EMERGENCY services rushed to a Hampshire motorway today after a crash involving two vehicles.

Police, Firefighters and an Ambulance were called to the incident which took place on the M3's Southbound carriageway, just before Winchester services.

Taking place at around 3am this morning, the crash is said to have involved a car and a lorry.

Nobody was said to be trapped in the incident but the driver of the car did suffer minor injuries.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said on Twitter, following the incident: "The consequence of driving whilst tired.... thankfully the driver has walked away with just minor injuries, having collided with the rear of an HGV whilst travelling south on the #M3 earlier this morning. Thanks to @NationalHways for assistance in cleaning up."

Firefighters made the scene safe before handing over to police and the ambulance service.

They left the area just after 3.30am.
