MULTIPLE roads are set to close as resurfacing work takes place in Southampton.

Works have been programmed by Southampton City Council in order to improve the carriageway on roads around the Millbrook area.

Balfour Beatty, working in partnership with the council, will be carrying out the resurfacing between the hours of 7.30am and 5.30pm.

Below is the full list of roads to be resurfaces and the date the work will take place:

  • Ampthill Road - October 18 to 20.
  • Kingsley Road - October 21 to 22 and October 25.
  • Foundry Lane - October 26 to 29 and November 1 and 2.
  • Leighton Avenue and Benson Road - October 27 and 28.

During the work, the roads are due to be closed in phases and some traffic management may be in place outside of the closing times.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys due to possible delays and diversions.

It is said that the working hours may be restricted when working near to Foundry Lane Primary School.
