HAVE you ever wondered where the most sought-after roads are in and around Southampton?
More people than ever are looking to buy homes along the south coast, and Southampton is just one of the places people are considering moving to.
And with so much on our doorstep, who can blame them?
The latest House Price Index released by property website Zoopla shows that the housing market in Southampton has risen by 4.2 per cent in the past year, with the average house price, as of March 2021, standing at £219,365.42.
The average time it takes for homes to sell in and around the Southampton area currently stands at 19.2 weeks, according to Property Solvers data.
Despite the rising property prices, houses in and around the city remain to be desirable.
Zoopla data shows the roads in Southampton that have been searched for the most.
The top 10 most sought after roads are:
10. Winchester Road, Southampton, SO16 - £1,302,000
9. Heatherlands Road, Chilworth, Southampton, SO16 - £1,318,000
8. Woodside, Chilworth, Southampton, SO16 - £1,325,000
7. Chilworth Road, Southampton, SO16 - £1,341,000
6. Brockishill Road, Bartley, Southampton, SO40 - £1,352,000
5. Chapel Road, Southampton, SO32 - £1,365,000
The fifth most sought after road in Southampton is in Swanmore where the current average value of a house is £558,733.
This is a rise of 0.7 per cent in the last three months (since July 2021) and rise of 4.2 per cent since 12 months ago.
4. Lands End Road, Bursledon, Southampton, SO31 - £1,443,000
The average price for property in Lands End Road stood at £1,471,062 in October 2021, a rise of 0.92 per cent in the last three months.
Terraced houses in this road have sold for an average of £268,086.
3. Hook Park Road, Southampton, SO31 - £1,507,000
The current average value of a house in this road currently stands at £1,537,152, an increase of 4.61 per cent in the past year.
2. Pinelands Road, Chilworth, Southampton, SO16 - £1,528,000
The average price for property in Pinelands Road stood at £1,537,628 in October 2021.
One detached house in the road is estimated to sell for between £1.72m to £2.1m.
1. Cowes Lane, Southampton, SO31 - £1,597,000
The most sought-after road in Southampton is Cowes Lane, near Warsash.
The average price has increased by 4.61 per cent in the last 12 months.
