A MAN has been arrested after a member of staff at a convenience store was allegedly threatened in a robbery last weekend.

Police were called at 8.33pm on Sunday after reports of a robbery at the McColls convenience store on Water Lane, Totton.

It was claimed that a man entered the store and threatened a staff member before demanding cash from the tills.

The individual is then said to have fled the scene.

An investigation was launched into the incident and yesterday an arrest was made.

After what was described by police as a "short foot chase", a 34-year-old man from Totton was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He remains in custody at this time and enquiries are still ongoing.
