OCTOBER half term is creeping closer, and with it brings the question of 'what are we going to do with the kids this week?'

Schools go on holiday from Monday, October 25 until Friday, October 29.

That's five full weekdays and a whole weekend to keep your kids occupied.

Southampton Culture Club for Kids

SeaCity Museum, October 25

A day of investigation, imagination and discovery lies ahead for children aged six to 11 who love being creative.

Led by the experienced cultural services learning team, children will explore the past, experience SeaCity Museum and Gallery and make "really cool" things inspired by the City’s arts and heritage collections.

Children can enjoy a full day of creativity and learning, starting at 9am and ending at 5pm.

Pumpkin Time at Sunnyfields Park

Create happy memories with loved ones at this "pumpkin experience."

Pumpkin Time is about viewing and taking pictures with the wide variety of pumpkins on display and creating happy memories with loved ones.

There will be thousands of pumpkins, squash and other cucurbits to purchase.

Customers can then take them home to carve, paint, or decorate.

The farm is open from 9am to 9pm.

Visitors are asked to arrive within their 30 minute time slot, but can stay as long as they like.

Tickets cost £4 and under 2s go free.

This October half term, bring the kids to the "friendliest and most frightful" fun fest.

Enjoy Peppa Pig World's spooky Halloween makeover and The Legend of Paultons Manor show – an all singing and dancing extravaganza.

This runs from October 23 to 31.

There will also be ghoulish fun as guests can meet Pickles the Pumpkin and the rest of the spirit squad characters.

For the thrillseekers out there, take on some of the park's best rides in the dark.

There will be two late night openings, on October 26 and 28 until 7.30pm.

Spooky Halloween Trail

Itchen Valley Country Park, October 23 - 31

Walk along Itchen Valley's haunting Halloween trail...if you dare!

Feeling brave? Take part in the trail through the woods.

Get all the ghoulish answers right to claim a prize.

It costs £3 per trail pack and there is no need to pre-book. 

Participants can take part any time between 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

MAST Mayflower Studios, October 12 - 16

Coronation Street stars Wendi Peters and Bill Ward lead an ensemble in this thrilling new adaptation.

The play follows Ichabod Crane who enters an eerie world of secrets and unsettling tradition as he arrives in Sleepy Hollow to become the town teacher.

But not all is as it seems. 

The play is recommended for those aged over 12 but under 12s can be admitted with an adult.
