GRAB your dancing shoes and boogie on down to Westquay, which will host a silent disco during half term.

Fully kitted out with shimmer and glitz, bright lights and glitter balls, the covered disco area will be located on the shopping centres Upper Terrace and has sessions to suit all ages and music tastes between October 25 and 31.

Pre-bookable sessions will be running every hour from 12pm to 9pm daily, with family friendly events during the day and entertainment for more adult audiences at night.

Visitors will be given a LED headphone set with adjustable sound volume to fully appreciate the disco beats.

The event schedule is loaded with different music genres, R’n’B, 80s, pop and old school playlists, allowing shoppers to get their groove on and throw some shapes.

The disco will also mark Halloween weekend with sessions featuring some of the scariest tunes from years gone by.

To ensure the silent disco is accessible to everyone, the centre worked closely with the Rose Road Association.

Laura Read, General Manager at Westquay, said: “We are excited to be bringing a brand-new event to Westquay this October half term. This is the first time we’ve hosted a silent disco and we believe it will be something that all ages can come and enjoy.

"We are really looking forward to seeing the residents of Southampton throw their best moves and come together for a good boogie."

For those that have worked up a thirst and appetite on the dance floor, the centre’s varied selection of bars and restaurants will offer everything required to relax after an hour of dancing fun.

Visitors must pre-book their session on Westquay’s website, with tickets starting from £2.50 for a one hour session.
