A MAN was dragged into a Southampton woodland by two others and robbed at knifepoint.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident between 7.50am and 8.20am on October 12 near Kane's Hill.

The victim, in his 50’s, was approached by two men unknown to him at the entrance of Dumbleton’s Copse.

They asked for a cigarette before grabbing him by his upper arm and pulling him into the woods.

The men then demanded he hand over his wallet and phone whilst threatening him with a knife.

They then walked off with his wallet in the direction of Kane’s Hill, towards the Windhover Roundabout.

Police have described the first man as: white, in his 60’s, of a stocky, muscular build with short brown hair.

He was wearing black tracksuit top with a white logo on the left hand side (possibly Adidas) and a hood. He did not have facial hair.

The second man is white, in his 30’s, of chubby build with a big belly and long, scruffy grey hair that was worn down and fell below his shoulders.

He did not have facial hair and was wearing blue jeans and a hoodie.

Officers will now be carrying out increased patrols in the area.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Officers are keen to identify the two men involved. Do you recognise their descriptions?

"Were you in the area at around the time of the incident? Did you witness anything? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously?

"Perhaps you were driving in the Kane’s Hill area at around the time of the incident and have some dash-cam footage of the two men described?
