AN autumn fair to raise money for a new church roof has been a roaring success - but led to some traffic issues.

Curdridge Autumnfest has taken place today around multiple locations around Church Lane, Curdridge.

The family harvest festival, which celebrates "all things autumn" has been a roaring success say organisers after some voiced their concerns about traffic in the area.

Some took to the Facebook page and said they had been sat in queues of more than 40 minutes as a result.

But organiser Miles Willshire told the Echo on Saturday afternoon that the event was "starting to wrap up" and warned people not to continue coming as most items being offered at the fair are sold out now.

He said: "It finishes at 5pm. We're running out of things. It's all been to raise money for the church roof so it's been a roaring success.

"We weren't expecting the turn out obviously with the Covid element of people not coming out."

ROMANSE's interactive traffic map currently shows high levels of traffic in the area.

There is also said to be traffic in nearby Botley according to the map.

All proceeds raised from the festival are set to go towards the St Peter’s Church roof repair fund.
