A WOMAN armed with a "dog chain" has been arrested after an incident at a Bursledon skate park.
Police were called to reports of a public order incident and assault at Pylands skate park yesterday after a woman had become abusive towards local residents.
Upon arrival at 4.15pm, officers located a woman walking away from the skate park along Hamble Road who matched the description given and a search was conducted.
A dog chain was located on her, but no dog in sight.
While detaining the woman, a number of claims were made in relation to assaults by the woman on those in the immediate area, police said.
A 41-year-old woman from Eastleigh was arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon and using threatening abusive or insulting words with intent to cause harm and/or distress.
She remains in custody at this time.
