PEOPLE living in the New Forest are being urged to keep a look out for a stolen livestock trailer.

The Ifor Williams TA510 trailer was taken from fields off Summer Lane, Beaulieu, on the night of October 17-18.

Now friends have taken to social media to ask people to report any sightings of the stolen vehicle.

One said: "It's valued at £6,500 but it will cost a lot more than that to replace as the owners added extras when they brought it.

"They've just been informed that it's not covered on their insurance so they're going to be left with no trailer to transport their animals. They desperately need it back as it's used all the time.

"This is the third or fourth time they've had stuff pinched."

The trailer is thought to have been stolen by an intruder who cut through a fence before targeting the locks on the vehicle.

During the incident one of the owners' ponies ran off down a track but was unharmed.

The trailer has several distinguishing features including a broken triangle-shaped reflector on the back, a twin sump inside and an emergency brake cable coloured red.

A police spokesperson said: "At some time between 11.20pm on October 17 and 8.30am on October 18 an Ifor Williams TA510 livestock trailer was stolen from fields off Summer Lane, Beaulieu.

"If anyone has any information about this incident, or where the trailer may be, please call police on 101 quoting 44210418838."
