A DRIVER without a full licence turned into a ditch after taking directions from a SatNav "too literally".
Police were called to Mainstone, near Romsey, at 10.58am on October 14 following reports of a car being stuck.
The driver, who had been travelling along the A27, was unsupervised and only held a provisional licence.
Hampshire Roads Policing Unit posted to Twitter: "Hopefully a little more experience will teach that when a SatNav states turn left, don't take it too literally."
No injuries were reported to police, and the driver was served with a Traffic Offence Report form, which will result in points on their licence and a fine.
This unsupervised provisional licence holder had a lucky escape after driving into a ditch on the A27 at #Romsey this morning. Hopefully a little more experience will teach that when a SatNav states turn left, don't take it too literally #1874 pic.twitter.com/5zD8xtIN4N

Those with a provisional drivers license are allowed to drive, but must be with a licensed adult 25 years of age or older.
