PHOTOS: These local bands played in 1983
IT was a particularly good year for Solent City Marching Band back in 1983.
Based at Fareham Park School, the band (below), notched up 13 trophies in four weeks following superb performances in Bath, West Sussex and Brighton.
And, continuing our band theme, we have also included Daily Echo pictures of the Ryde Youth Concert Band at the Guildhall.
The Southampton Central Band.
And a Guildhall Concert featuring music from the Combined Bands of the 1st and 2nd Eastleigh Boys’ Brigade with Totton Girls’ Brigade and Wessex Corps of Drums.
Also featured is a picture of a marching band at Wickham Carnival.
And the Hampshire Concert band practising at Westgate School.
