A SERIES of podcasts bringing people business advice has been launched by Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

The podcasts focus on a different business topic each months, with themes including the environment, international trade and e-commerce.

Each episode features a guest chatting to one of the hosts, who are the LEP’s business engagement and growth hub manager James Ford and its capital and infrastructure programme manager Kate Cloud.

The first episode features Chris Hill, director of RUNAWAYE, a specialist digital export and cross-boarder e-commerce service, which connects UK businesses with digital international marketplaces, channels and customers.

They talk about the effects of Brexit and the challenges of the pandemic on business.

Mr Hill says that after Brexit, “businesses had to adapt overnight and in many cases it caused a lot of confusion”. The episode can be heard now.

The second podcast, due this month, will focus on the current state of international trade, and features Frances Fawcett of International Trading Matters as its guest.

Episode three, to be launched in December in the wake of COP26, will feature Will Adney from Green Wessex.

He will offer advice for small and medium-sized businesses on how they can become more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

SJ Hunt, deputy chair of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership and chair of Solent LEP’s business task force, said: “The Solent LEP is delighted to launch this podcast series.

“We’re talking about the big issues affecting local small and medium-sized businesses to help them get the information they need and the right tools to help businesses grow.

“Our podcasts are easy to download so that you can listen whenever and wherever suits you,” she added.

“In an ever-changing world, we want to make sure Solent businesses can access business advice and support in a way that suits them so, together, we can help our local economy thrive.”
