A MEN'S mental health dance theatre project returns to Southampton next week after a Covid enforced break.

Set to be performed on November 19, International Men’s Day, Headfunk is a thought provoking and entertaining evening of live dance theatre and creative activities, which aims to explore the theme of male identity and raise awareness of men’s mental health.

The project was created by ZoieLogic Dance Theatre and will be performed at MAST Mayflower Studios.

It will feature live performances from professional dancers from ZoieLogic Dance Theatre with debut performances from members of the local community, many of whom have never performed on stage before.

The dancers have been working with ZoieLogic over the past six weeks to explore the theme of men’s mental health and develop work ready for the live performance in November.

Zoie Golding, Artistic Director at ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, said: “Through years of experience we have seen first hand the life changing positive impact that creativity, dance and expression can have on a person’s mental health and wellbeing - Headfunk is an incredible celebration of this.”
