THE family of a man who died in a two-vehicle crash near Winchester have said he will be "forever missed".

On October 9, police were called at 2.15pm after a crash on Morestead Road, near Bar End.

A red and white Ducati 749 motorcycle was involved, as well as a mauve Citroen C4 Grand Picasso.

The rider of the motorcycle, 54-year-old Jonathan Gates from Maple Drive, Kings Worthy, died at the scene.

Now his family have paid tribute, describing him as a "loving husband, a father, stepfather and grandad to two beautiful girls".

They added: "Jon sadly passed away doing what he loved to do, riding bikes. He will be forever loved and forever missed.

“The family wish to thank the emergency services and all their friends and family for their support at this sad time.”

The crash is still being investigated by police who are calling for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
