A HUGE Poundland will open its doors in Southampton this weekend.

The store replaces the former Mothercare at West Quay Retail Park and will create 18 new jobs.

Customers can expect more than 12,000 square feet of wide aisles and belted tills.

Doors swing open on Saturday (November 20).

PEP&CO will also be on offer, which has become one of the top 20 clothing retailers in the UK, just six years after the brand was born.

Poundland’s retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “Southampton West Quay is a fantastic addition to our network of stores in the city and across the south coast and we’re excited to be increasing our presence in the region.

“We’re really proud of the new store and it offers a fantastic range of items so customers can get more of what they need in one trip. Our investment in the design and layout will give them the best possible customer experience.”

PEP&CO offers clothing for the whole family, including womenswear from jeggings to dresses, menswear, from polo tops to jeans, and kids’ clothing from pyjamas to school wear.

It will also have the very latest PEP&CO Home range, including throws, cushions, photo frames and decorative pieces from its autumn-winter 2021 collections.

The chiller and freezer cabinets will stock a wide range of meals and snacks including ready-meals, pizzas, pies, frozen desserts and ice-cream.

While the store will still offer the everyday essentials, groceries, drinks and snacks, it will also feature revamped health and beauty, entertainment, stationery and craft ranges.

There are now more than 200 Poundland stores across the country.
