A HUNT has been launched for two men following an attempted burglary in Southampton.

A Burgess Road resident was disturbed after hearing a repeated banging noise.

On investigation, they found two men repeatedly kicking the door of their home at around 3.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim shouted at the duo who then fled the scene in the direction of the Avenue.

One of the suspects has been described as being white, aged 35 to 45-years old, approximately 5ft 7ins tall, skinny build and with short dark hair.

He was seen wearing a dark blue jacket and light blue jeans.

Meanwhile, the other man has been described as being white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and a stocky build.

He was seen wearing a black hooded coat and a black baseball cap.

Police have now launched an investigation and are appealing to the public for information.

A police spokesperson said: "Were you in the area at the time? Did you see what happened or see anyone acting suspiciously?

"The incident took place on a busy Burgess Road so we’re also asking any members of the public who may have dash-cam footage of the incident or the men fleeing the area to please contact us.
