This weekend, local motorsport enthusiasts, gamers and real-world racers will take on a huge test of endurance and stamina at The Race Centre in Chandler’s Ford.

Teams of drivers will do battle at an authentic virtual rendition of the legendary Spa-Francorchamps racing circuit - the home of the Belgian Grand Prix - all at the helm of identical Ferrari 488 GTE cars. Driver line-ups are recommended to feature 3-6 people; however, at least one ‘team’ for this year’s race features just the one driver.

Each team has its own JustGiving page, and there is also a page for the event as a whole, for anyone wishing to contribute to the tally for this unique and challenging fundraiser for a great cause.

The event has been a tradition at The Race Centre since 2006, with well over £60,000 being raised for Children in Need across the 11 previous editions.

Adrian Thomson, owner of The Race Centre, commented: “It’s such a thrill to see the Children in Need 24-Hour race return to The Race Centre for the first time since the pandemic. There are returning teams and new faces joining us, and I expect it to be one of the most competitive grids we’ve ever had. But of course, our main objective is to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need.”

The 24-hour race will get underway at 1PM on Friday November 19th, with a livestream available on Facebook and Twitch. The stream will feature commentary from motorsport broadcaster Adam Weller, who is set to be joined by a few famous voices from the world of motorsport.
