AN EXCLUSIVE new cocktail bar has thrown open its doors in Southampton city centre.
The Attic has been elegantly designed in a 1920s style in a throwback to the prohibition era.
Located in Above Bar Street, the new venue is decorated with Chesterfield chairs, dim lighting, and old treasures.
Would-be visitors must ring a doorbell to get inside, where they can then enjoy a selection of 15 different cocktails.
Owner and entrepreneur, Spencer Bowman, hopes that The Attic will become the best cocktail bar in Southampton.

He has even recruited professional bar manager, Joe Taylor and his ‘mixologist’ skills to help kickstart the venture.
Drinks come served in - amongst other things - a teddy bear-shaped jar and even a teapot.
The Attic sits above and is accessed via Mettricks Guildhall - which Spencer also owns.
He said: “All of the drinks are creative and beautifully presented and are filled with sweet and savoury ingredients.
“The drink flavours are long forgotten about, and there are some that our customers haven’t stumbled upon before.”

Spencer opened Mettricks with his younger sister in 2016. The interior of the coffee house and the cocktail lounge are inspired by the duo’s great-grandma Margaret’s home.
Mr Bowman added: We wanted the café to be as comfortable as my grandmother’s living room and the upstairs to feel cosy like her attic, which explains why we named the lounge, The Attic.”
The venue is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 pm to 11 pm.
