A FULL review into historic sexual abuse at Southampton Football Club will be published this week.

Barnardo’s had been commissioned by Saints to undertake a "comprehensive and independent" review relating to former employee Bob Higgins.

The ex-coach was jailed for 24 years in 2019 for sexually abusing young players in the 70s and 80s.

Saints have now released a statement confirming that the review is finished, and will be sent to victims within the next 24 hours.

It will be made public on November 26.

The club said: "Southampton Football Club has been informed by Barnardo’s that the independent review into historic abuse at the club in the 1970s and 1980s has now been concluded.

"Victims and survivors of the abuse will be receiving a full copy of the review within the next 24 hours.

"The club believes it is very important that those involved are afforded the privacy and time to fully digest the conclusions of the review.

"With that in mind, the club intends to publish the full review at 10am on Friday November 26. The club’s response to the review will also be published at this time."
