POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted.

At around 4.55am on November 20, a woman in her 50s was grabbed on the arm by a man she did not know while she was walking along the A32 Fareham Road.

The man is reported to have made an inappropriate remark while holding her arm before she fought back and ran away.

The man, who had come from a wooded area near to Fort Brockhurst, was described as white, 5ft9, and skinny.

He was wearing a black hoodie and a black beanie hat.

Officers are investigating this incident.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "As part of enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who has information that can assist our investigation, and has seen the person in question in the area, or has witnessed this type of behaviour in the area.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44210466205.
