FUNDING has been requested for the implementation of a living willow wigwam costing £1,500 with the aim to "educate local children."
The request has been made to the Bishopstoke, Fair Oak and Horton Heath Local Area Committee in a pledge to facilitate an educational planting project with pupils from Fair Oak Junior School.
This is an extension of the Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council’s Bee and Tree corridor project, and the project will be in the form of a living willow play tunnel adjacent to the play area site.
It aims to educate local children on the ecological benefits of trees as natural habitats for local insects and wildlife.
It is recommended by those involved that the committee approves the allocation of £1,500 to help facilitate this.
