RESIDENTS are being urged to represent their neighbourhood as a councillor in two new parish councils.
At the beginning of this year, plans to create two parish councils in Eastleigh were given the go ahead by the borough council.
Now though, residents are being asked to put their name forward as the first elections for Eastleigh Parish Council and Boyatt Wood Parish Council are set to take place next May.
This comes after a public consultation as part of a community governance review indicated that more than 80 per cent of householders were strongly in favour of more 'locally focused decision-making'.
Anyone who wants to put themselves should 'ideally' live or work in the neighbourhood they want to represent.
Anyone who wants more information should email tract.predeth@eastleigh.gov.uk
