PLANS to build extend a house by building a garden room have been turned down.
The Lymington-based New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) has rejected an application relating to Willow House at Copythorne Common, Copythorne.
An NPA report said: "Consent is sought for a ground floor conservatory extension at the rear of the property.
"The proposal would have minimal impact on neighbouring amenity and, as it would be located to the rear of the property and by the nature of the site, it would have no impact on the character of the wider locality."
But the report added: "In order to help safeguard the long term future of the countryside, the
authority considers it important to resist the cumulative effect of significant enlargements being made to rural dwellings.
"This proposal, taking into account a previous enlargement, would result in a building which is unacceptably large in relation to the original dwelling."
