Another 123 people on the Isle of Wight have got Covid-19, the government has revealed.

Overall cases on just the Island, since the coronavirus pandemic started, now stand at 18,063.

In data correct on November 23, children aged 5-9 years old remained the worst affected, with 10-14 and 40-44 year olds also recording a high infection rate.

The fewest confirmed new cases are in older Islanders aged over 70.

The rolling average rate, in the seven days to November 23, shows 568.5 cases per 100,000 Islanders, which is a rise on the previous average rate.

The UK average is 439.5.

New measures will come into force this week, requiring masks in shops and on public transport. 

However, the hospitality industry was not included in the measures announced for England by the Prime Minister yesterday (Saturday).
