Face coverings are now compulsory in Westquay, in line with the latest government advice.

Boris Johnson announced over the weekend that face coverings will be compulsory in shops and on public transport from Tuesday. Some stores, such as Aldi, have already confirmed that they will be enforcing mask wearing in their stores.

Southampton’s biggest shopping centre, Westquay, has also confirmed that face coverings are compulsory indoors.

Westquay said: “In line with the latest guidance from the Government, face coverings are compulsory throughout the centre, including in all our stores, unless you have a legitimate reason not to wear one such as a disability. For more information on who is exempt please visit the Government’s website.”
