'Please use other routes': Southampton bridge closed due to police incident
A MAJOR Southampton bridge was closed this afternoon due to a police incident.
Southampton City Council Highways announced on Twitter that the Itchen Bridge was closed in both directions.

The bridge was closed by emergency services following reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman on the Itchen Bridge..
Motorists were urged to find other routes as the bridge was closed.
Officers were able to locate the woman and the bridge has since been reopened.
