Call for new carers in Southampton as city council faces shortages
SOUTHAMPTON City Council has issued a new appeal for people to work in social care.
There are 39 care homes in Southampton, with nine offering nursing care to their residents.
Southampton City Council is now calling for people to apply to work in care across the city.
This comes as care services across England are facing acute shortages that are preventing them from taking more patients.
A spokesman for Southampton City Council said: “We are looking for carers to support local people in Southampton in their homes.
“If you’re interested in making a genuine difference to people’s lives, then this is the career for you.”
