RAISING money and making people happy is a priority for two Dibden siblings who have created a dazzling Christmas lights display in aid of charity.

Every year siblings Crystle Kinch and Gavin Rogers go all out decking one of their homes with seasonal decorations for the Wessex Cancer Unit at The Grove in Hythe.

The large display is on show at Crystle's home in Eyeworth Walk, and the pair hope to raise thousands for their chosen charity.

Youth worker Crystle, 37, said: "Gavin has always been Christmas lights crazy, even from a baby. When he got older, he started decorating mum’s house to the extreme. We always used to get asked ‘where can we donate?’ which set off the idea of doing this so people can donate to a local charity.

"A family friend was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and the Wessex Cancer Unit was phenomenal. When you get a diagnosis like that, it does affect the whole family, so it’s important the family are cared for as well.

"It’s a fantastic charity to raise money for. This year, we decided to go bigger and better.

"We have used my house this year as I have a bigger garden. Gavin has gone all out with the lights, it’s absolutely amazing.

"The kids absolutely love it, and opening night on November 27 was phenomenal. We had so many people here."

Visitors and passers-by can make a donation to the Wessex Cancer Unit by dropping some cash in a pot outside Crystle's house.

The siblings hope to raise thousands of pounds for the charity close to their hearts.

Crystle said: "Last year we raised £2,000, so we’re hoping to reach £2,000 again and beat that amount. It doesn’t sound like a lot of money, but it’s a lot for a charity that needs it.

"The more people that know about it, the more money we raise for a great cause. "

The Christmas display can be enjoyed every night from 4.30pm to 7.30pm until January 1.
