Flood warnings and alerts have been put in place in Southampton and Hampshire as Storm Barra hits - which could see roads and car parks partially underwater.

Warnings have been put in place for Beaulieu and Fareham, with alerts in place for Mansbridge, Riverside Park, Hamble, Southampton Water, Milford on Sea, Lymington, and Beaulieu estuary, the Government's flood team says.

Warnings mean "flooding is expected", with alerts predicting "flooding is possible".

This is due to this afternoon's tide being "higher than normal" with "unsettled water" due to Storm Barra.

These high tides are due to hit at around 12.41pm and 2.34pm.

Full details are listed below.

Flood warning for Beaulieu

For 1 hour either side of high water, Palace Lane and the B3056 (Hatchet Lane) north of the Mill Pond will flood.

Access to the village will be temporarily difficult.

On the downstream side of the pond, the Mill House garden will flood.

Flood warning for Fareham

For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, which could impact a very small number of properties in this location.

The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood.

Flood water in Wallington Shore Road will be between 0.1 m and 0.2 m deep.

Flood alert for Southampton Water and Hamble

For 1 hour either side of high tide, minor impact flooding will affect the lower floor level of Eling Tide Mill and boat yards at Bursledon.

Road and car park flooding will occur at The Quay in Hamble, the Rising Sun pub in Warsash, Magazine Lane at Marchwood, Shore Road, and Promenade in Hythe.

Flood alert for Mansbridge and Riverside Park

For 1 hour either side of high tide, levels in the lower River Itchen will increase as the incoming tide prevents water from flowing out to sea.

Footpath flooding will affect some areas of Riverside Park.

The pub car park at Mansbridge may see minor impact flooding for a short period of time.

The tide will not flood property or the A27.

Flood alert for Beaulieu estuary

For 1 hour either side of high tide, water will flood into the garden of the Mill House on the downstream side of the Mill Pond.

Palace Lane will also flood, making access to the village temporarily more difficult.

Flood alert for Milford on Sea to Lymington

For 1 hour either side of high tide, water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub, Town Quay.

Saltgrass Lane will flood and be completely impassable to traffic.

In Milford-on-Sea High Street, near the Smugglers Inn pub, the river will increase with the tide and come close to the top of the river bank, possibly flooding footpaths.

The tide will not flood property.
