IT'S a production full of magical moments.

Second Star To The Right is another festive offering from MAST Mayflower Studios, which sits beautifully alongside the musical Peter Pan in the main house and offers the perfect introduction to theatre for younger audiences.

My three-year-old daughter Alice was enchanted as soon as she walked into the top floor studio space where the show is set. Stars adorned the corridor's ceiling and cushions and blankets were set out for us to snuggle up under and enjoy this enchanting adventure.

Three pyjama-clad children, played by Anna Harriott, Laurie McNamara and Sophie Ross, are about to journey to the land of nod during their sleepover when their attentions turn to an even bigger adventure and we are transported to Neverland.

Daily Echo:

There we meet an extremely colourful singing puppet bird who allows us to fly with him, feel the ocean lapping at our toes and find a monster hiding inside a cave.

The entire show has a dream-like quality, is beautifully lit with twinkling fairy lights and is very interactive, allowing the little ones to jump up and pop bubbles, meet a mermaid and even gently hold a fairy in the palm of their hand.

There were a number of even younger children than my pre-schooler in the audience, including several babies, and each and every one was utterly spellbound. That's not to say the youngsters have to be quiet, if they fancy a wander round or need a break, that's no problem.

Daily Echo:

Expect a beautifully gentle piece of theatre for all the family, but one that will have the littlest members mesmerised.

Alice loved it so much she's returning this week for more!
