A SOUTHAMPTON pub has confirmed that it will require Covid-19 passes two days a week after new government regulations were announced.

The Hobbit says that due to the fact that it opens until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, visitors will be required to show proof of double vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test in order to gain entry.

You will be able to enter the Bevois Valley Road pub every other day of the week without a pass.

Taking to Facebook, the pub posted: “So we have just found out (with lots of notice as always) that we do indeed fall into the remit of requiring Covid passes or similar proof of negativity for entry into the venue when we are open after 1am.”

“As you all know we are open till 3am Fridays and Saturdays so from this Friday you will need to show a valid Covid pass or proof of a negative test for entry into the venue.

“So if you're coming down this Friday or Saturday for any of our events then get yourself sorted before you get here and we will get you in and enjoying your nights!

“The NHS app can take up to 24 hours to verify you so don't leave it last minute! We thank you in advance for your co-operation and we will see you all this weekend!”
