RNLI crews from Calshot issued a plea this morning after their lifeboat was blocked in by a car.

Earlier today, December 19, crews were unable to commence training on time due to the Atlantic 85 B Class lifeboat being blocked in its shed.

In a post on social media, crews said: "When the pagers sound, every second counts and not being able to launch the most suitable boat for the job could literally be the difference between life and death.

"Please keep access clear to allow us to do our job."

Crew members soon managed to locate the owner, who was on the water.

Whilst trying to return in order to clear access for them, the owner got into difficulty and required crews to launch to help them.

But, as the "ideal asset" to launch, the Atlantic 85, was blocked in, Calshot RNLI had to launch their D Class lifeboat 'Willett' to assist.
