PROPERTY in Hampshire is far more expensive than the UK average – and has been for years now.

But just how much money are people splashing in the really wealthy areas?

Zoopla's rich list has given all the information on property prices across the county, and has also revealed the most expensive streets.

Average prices

The average asking price for a property in Hampshire currently sits at £390,701.

According to experts, the UK's average is around £333,500.

Renters are experiencing average rates of around £1,595.

For a detached home, buyers are looking at around £619,001; semi-detached, £358,388; terraced, £286,093; flats, £213,537.

Highest value towns

With areas as beautiful as the New Forest and cities as prominent as Portsmouth, Southampton, and Winchester, it's no surprise that property is expensive in Hampshire.

These are the most expensive areas to live, according to Zoopla:

  1. Brockenhurst, £942,913
  2. Stockbridge, £764,507
  3. Alresford, £681,884
  4. Lyndhurst, £668,333
  5. Winchester, £604,874

Most expensive streets

The three most expensive streets in Hampshire have also been revealed – and all have average asking prices over a whopping £2.5million.

1. Dock Lane, Brockenhurst - £3,660,000

According to a study by Zoopla, homes in Dock Lane, Brockenhurst have an average price of £3,660,000.

The most expensive property currently on the market in the street is a former Edwardian coach house, with a price tag of £1,145,000.

2. Lisle Court Road, Lymington - £2,585,000

This street features homes with more than six bedrooms that have stood for decades.

It sits just a short walk from Lymington Pier and the seafront.
