RESIDENTS across Eastleigh are being urged to recycle their Christmas trees this year at one of multiple collection points.

Located across the borough, multiple collection points are being set up between January 4 and 17 in order to give people a spot to dispose of their tree.

These will be located at Mortimers Road Car Park, Hilliers Garden Centre Lakeside Country Park, Brambridge Park Garden Centre, In-Excess Fair Oak Garden Centre, Hound Parish Hall, and Haskins Garden Centre.

These can also be taken to recycling centres in the area but residents will be required to book for this.

Those who subscribe to Eastleigh Borough Council's garden waste scheme will also be able to their trees collected on their scheduled collection day by just placing it next to their garden waste bin.

Cabinet Lead for Environment Cllr Rupert Kyrle said: “Our Christmas tree recycling service continues to be very a popular scheme with local residents.

"Last year many hundreds of trees were recycled in an environmentally friendly way.

"I encourage everyone to recycle their Christmas trees for free at one of the sites throughout our borough or via our garden waste service.”
