THOSE living close to two new play area sites are being asked to give their views on proposals.

Eastleigh Borough Council has launched two separate consultations to collect residents thoughts on two new play areas – one at Cleverley Rise and one at Kestrel Park.

After initial landscaping works on the development, the authority says it has been assessing designs for the new play areas which are being funded by the developer.

Now though, residents are being asked for their thoughts on the proposed designs for the sites.

The Cleverley Rise play area is proposed to include a multi-play adventure tower, nest swing, toddler adventure tower, see-saw, roundabout and cradle swing.

It will be based on an area of open space adjacent to Blundell Lane and is aimed at children up to the ages of 10 years old.

Meanwhile, the Kestrel Park site is planned to include an adventure play area with a climbing system jungle forest, spring-mounted rocker beam, climbing station and 2.1 metre nest swing.

It is also proposed to boast a ropes and beams trim trail with a balancing beam course, triple spring bouncing disc, sloping monkey bars, low stepping posts, stilts course, spider web net, balancing snake and wildlife wheelspin.

This will be aimed at children aged up to 14 and is set to be installed before April 2022.

A council spokesman said: “Before we go ahead with the installation, we would welcome your comments and observations on the proposed design.

“We would welcome any comments you may wish to share with regard to the proposed play area and would be grateful to receive comments by 3rd January 2022. If you would like any further information, or to make a comment please contact steve.ross@eastleigh.gov.uk”
