A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Southampton.
Police were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on The Avenue, Southampton, at 6.40pm yesterday (December 30).
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where she is still being treated.
The driver of the Hyundai, also 50-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area, close to the Lodge Road junction, at the time.

Last night, police closed off inbound carriageway of The Avenue to all traffic.
