POLICE have issued a warning to Hampshire residents after four distraction burglaries involving bogus officers last night.
Addresses in Ringwood, Bartley, Calmore and Totton, have all been target by the same group of four men, police said.
They attempted to gain entry to the homes between 7pm and 8.30pm by pretending to be police officers.
It is believed they are travelling through the area in a van.
Police are warning residents to be on their guard and not to let in unexpected visitors.
They have issued security advice urging residents to check callers identity before letting them in.
Genuine police officers will be prepared to give their name and officer number and wait while it is checked by calling 0845 045 4545.
Anyone noticing suspicious men or vehicles in their area can call the police on the above number.
