The A303 has now reopened.
A WOMAN in her 50s was killed in an accident that closed a busy Hampshire road last night.
Police were called just after 10pm following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A303 near Andover.
Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson said: "Officers investigating the circumstances of the collision are keen to hear from anyone who can assist their enquiries.
"If you witnessed the incident, or have dash cam footage from the incident or moments prior to it, then please call 101, quoting the reference 44220007215."
The A303 westbound was shut between Between M3 Junction 8 (Basingstoke) and A34 (Bullington Cross).
