Hampshire Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter that residents may see additional resources across Hampshire this evening after they were made aware of an unauthorised car meet being planned.
- Police ramp up patrols following mass car meet ups
- Supermarket car park 'invaded by 300 vehicles' in rowdy car-meet
It comes after an event that took place at Morrisons in Spruce Drive, Totton, last weekend.
Residents complaints about “anti-social behaviour and dangerous driving”.
Police later confirmed that around 150 vehicles attended.
Locals say they had to put up with the sound of revving engines and honking horns, plus a “haze of smoke” drifting over the neighbourhood.
Officers have confirmed they will now increase presence across “hotspot” areas in Totton and Calmore.
The car meet followed similar incidents at the nearby Calmore Industrial Estate last year in the summer and autumn.
