HEARTBROKEN staff at a Fair Oak animal shelter have issued a desperate appeal to find their resident shelter cat.

Sherman went missing on January 2 from St Francis Animal Shelter on Mortimers Lane and staff are desperate to have him home.

Manager of St Francis Animal Shelter Helen Shaw said that it is unlike Sherman to venture far or miss meal times.

Daily Echo:

They are concerned that someone may have taken Sherman in and he is unable to return to the shelter.

Sherman's previous owners asked for him to be kept at the shelter for the rest of his life because he is very destructive.

Helen said: "He never goes far, never misses a mealtime, we're so worried someone has stolen him and everyone here is in tears about it.

"Sherman's previous owners asked for him to be kept at the shelter for the rest of his life because he is a very destructive cat if he is ever - and I mean ever - confined. He is microchipped to us and recorded as missing.

"Please can everyone look out for him and look out for any new cat in their neighbourhood as he is very distinctive looking. We are all heartbroken at the shelter.

"If anyone has him, please return him to us. He will be so unhappy away from what was always intended to be his forever home.

"He's been so happy with us and everyone loves him to bits."

If anyone sees Sherman, please call 07947 592043.
