A BUSY Hampshire road was closed after police received reports of a man seen standing on a roof.
Police say the man came down from the top of a building at Southampton Road, Eastleigh, after an incident that lasted almost two hours.
At one point nearby Station Road was closed.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called at around 5.50am to a concern for welfare incident after a man was seen on the roof of a building on Southampton Road, Eastleigh.
Police attended the scene.
At 7.44am the man came down from the roof and was brought to safety."
Station Hill was closed between its junctions with Leigh Road and Bishopstoke Road and Wells Place.
Drivers were warned that "heavy delays" were building in the area.
The travel service Romanse tweeted: "A335 #Eastleigh - Station Hill is CLOSED between Leigh Rd/Bishopstoke Rd/Eastleigh Train Station and Wells Place @SwanEastleigh due to a police-led incident, heavy delays building."
