SOUTHAMPTON'S motorists will have six closures to avoid this week – including emergency works on a key road.
Some drivers will have to wait up to 45 minutes on their regular routes as contractors continue with upgrades.
These are the closures to be aware of this week:
- Lane two, eastbound into Southampton, on the Redbridge Causeway is likely to remain closed for at least a couple of days due to a collapsed utility cover. Southern Water has been alerted and will send operatives to the site as soon as possible. The cover collapsed today (January 11).
- M27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 13 to Chilworth Roundabout, link road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.
- M27, until January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, / M27 eastbound, slip road closure for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
- M27, until February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 5, slip road closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.
- M27 until February 7 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 5 to junction 4, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
One more closure will begin soon:
- M27, from 8pm January 19 to 6am March 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 8 to junction 9, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.
