PLANS to transform a former council offices site into a car dealership are set to be discussed next week.

The Eastleigh Local Area Committee will discuss the proposed plans to the St Georges Way premises on Tuesday, January 18 at 7pm.

The Villeneuve, St. Georges Way site was previously the location of Eastleigh Borough Council’s offices until March 2014.

The building was subsequently demolished in 2015 and the site has been vacant since.

If the plans are approved, the car dealership will boast a reception area, display vehicles, workshop, valet and storage on the ground floor of the building, and a commercial showroom, offices and staff facilities on the first floor.

The meeting will see members delegate the decision back to the Executive Head of Planning and Economy - in consultation with the Chair and Vice Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee - to grant planning permission, subject to the following updates and conditions.
