Covid-19 cases are dropping in every area of Southampton except one, data has shown.

The government's interactive map of cases shows that out of the 31 neighbourhoods, 30 reported a decrease in the seven days to January 11.

This was compared to the previous week and is the latest Government data available.

The only area in the city to record an increase in cases over those seven days was Highfield and University with an increase of 22 cases.

Just one district, Shirley Warren, now sits in the highest possible case rate category, and has over 1,600 cases per 100,000 people.

The case rate for the area is currently 1,682.

Overall, Southampton reported 2,644 cases, down 1,140 or 30.1%. This is a case rate of 1,045.6 per 100,000 people.

Hampshire reported 13,942, a decrease of 7,914 or 36.2% with a case rate of 1,003.6 per 100,000 people.
