A DRIVER failed to stop when a police car put on its blue lights – because he could not see through his windscreen.

Officers were eventually able to pull this vehicle over on the M3 this morning (January 17).

The driver overtook the police trying to stop him using blue lights and then continued to fail to stop for a few miles.

A police spokesperson said he "had no awareness of the police presence".

Rule 229 of the Highway Code clearly states that before setting off in the winter drivers should make sure that they clear all snow, ice and condensation from their windows.

Failure to do so could lead to a £60 fine for the car being in a “dangerous condition.”
