A MAN has been arrested after a motorist was pushed from his moped.
The owner was riding it on the small road between the Waitrose car park and Alma Road when he was approached by a group of people.
This was on November 9, and the vehicle was stolen.
Now, a 24-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
A spokesperson said: "Response Officers not in uniform swooped on a moped and the rider. Neighbourhood Officers from Southampton West Team responded to the incident where a male was detained and a stolen moped recovered.
"The rider was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, assaulting an emergency worker and driving offences. He is 'assisting us with enquires.'"
